Once upon a time... there was a tree that no one liked...except for one little boy who had a good heart and did not see that it was old and twisted ...he saw a tree with a swing...and the tree loved him for that and gladly held its branches a little bit straighter and a little bit stronger as a result...

day after day the boy would swing, sometimes even in the rain (even after he was scolded by others who looked like him only bigger with less imagination ... he would always find his way back to the tree and the swing a few days later... the other trees grew fond of the boy as well and the dreariness of the forest began to slowly fade but only for the boy who had nothing to fear in the forest

I'm glad the boy found the tree, the swing and the enjoyment he got from them. You can see the simple pleasures of this freedom written all over his face. He almost reminds me of Pinocchio, when he finds himself at the circus, with all kinds of crazy adventures that followed! A magical playground away from the drugery of everyday life.

agreed...anyone can focus on the negative aspects of their life and remain miserable...or they can see their situation for what it is...part of their own personal journey through life...how you react will determine the nature of future detours, rest stops and emotional havens of exqusite beauty.

Yes very true.

I've actually been going through a "detour" in my life and i'm just waking up to the fact, that even though these recent humps and bumps in the road have been a little disturbing to this soul, i have overcome and my eyes still have a twinkle.

Ahhh.... the idiocyncracies of this life. What would we do without them =)

Hope you have had a interesting day.....and something out of the ordinary happened for you, to bring a smile to your face.

A last thought for the day....
"When we are alone on a starlit night, or when by chance we see the migrating birds in autumn descending on a grove of junipers to rest and eat; when we see children in a moment when they are really children, when we know love in our own hearts; or when, like the Japanese poet, Basho, we hear an old frog land in a quiet pond with a solitary splash - at such times the awakening, the turning inside out of all values, the "newness," the emptiness and the purity of vision that make themselves evident, all these provide a glimpse of the cosmic dance."
(Thomas Merton)

bye for now Scottman.
